The general secretary of the PSOE in Lanzarote, Carlos Espino, has ratified his statements about Felipe Fernández Camero's daughter, Juana Fernández de las Heras, whom he linked to the retraction of José Francisco Reyes, who after his arrest confessed to having received money from several businessmen in exchange for the granting of illegal licenses and who, subsequently, denied it. This very Wednesday, Carlos Espino has faced a conciliation act, which Juana Fernández de las Heras has not attended, who has been represented by her solicitor and her lawyer.
Leaving the Courts, Carlos Espino assured La Voz that he has "maintained" his statements. "I ratify, I have not rectified, so the conciliation has not occurred," he indicated. And the socialist maintains that José Francisco Reyes changed his testimony "due to pressure received from abroad." "I am not the only one who has this version, as the Justice system is also investigating it," he indicated.
Indeed, last September the Investigating Court Number 2 asked the Tahíche Penitentiary Center to send the record of visits that Reyes had since he confessed to the bribes until he retracted before the judge to know if, as the prosecutor maintained, someone "could influence" José Francisco Reyes' change of version. And according to the information sent by the prison, the former mayor of Yaiza received a visit from Juana Fernández de Las Heras a few days before retracting.
"An attempt at blackmail"
Therefore, Carlos Espino has not rectified his statements this Wednesday and has assured that if Juana Fernández de las Heras considers that his statements "are false, then let her act with the means that the law gives her."
In addition, the socialist has assessed that Fernández de las Heras has not appeared before the judge in this conciliation act and has assured that this is "an attempt at blackmail, a crude attempt to pressure and cause this issue, which is costing her so much in the legal field, not to cost her so much from the point of view of public information."
"Neither with these actions nor with others will they be able to gag the voices that expose what has been happening in Lanzarote in recent years," Carlos Espino insisted.
