The deputy for the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and insular president of Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc), Yoné Caraballo, wants to express his disappointment at the events known in recent days in relation to the new and frustrated attempt to reform the immigration law to enable a fair reception by the peninsular territory of unaccompanied minors who are in the Canary Islands.

For the Canarian nationalist, "this new blockade has, once again, the seal of the Popular Party (PP) of Núñez Feijóo, which has settled in the lack of solidarity and contempt for the Canarian population and institutions, prioritizing its competition with the ultras of Vox and Alvise more than useful and state-minded politics." Thus, Caraballo continues, "it is evident that Canarian society can no longer count on the collaboration of the Spanish right, since they are in other interests far from the reality of the islands."

In the same way, the deputy criticizes "the submissive attitude of those responsible for the Lanzarote PP who hide and do not show their faces in the face of the repeated lack of solidarity of their bosses in the peninsula towards this island. What is more, they practice double standards by appealing to Christian goodness in the commemorative acts to the patron saint La Virgen de Los Dolores, while they practice a lack of solidarity with boys and girls who are trapped in the Canary Islands."

"Christian solidarity is based on the common good. A mutual help where we all take care of each other and take responsibility for their discomforts," says Yoné Caraballo.

"Complicit silence of CC"

Yoné Caraballo sees in the silence of CC and its top leader Fernando Clavijo a "complicit silence" that gives the PP a carte blanche to continue despising the Canary Islands. In Caraballo's words, "it is not understood how CC has allowed the PP to ignore and boycott all the meetings that have been held to reach an agreement that will solve a situation that the Canary Islands cannot manage alone."

"CC must be demanding with its government partners and not prioritize institutional chairs before the interests of the Canarians. The PP has become the first problem of CC both in the Government of the Canary Islands and in Lanzarote and, at the same time, of each and every one of the Canarians," maintains Yoné Caraballo, who also demands that the PSOE of Lanzarote "pressure its colleagues in the Government of Spain to seek new ways of resolution while incorporating more material and human resources to give minors the best possible treatment."
