The PSOE spokesman in the Teguise City Council, Marcos Bergaz, has demanded this Tuesday "urgent explanations" from the government group formed by the Canarian Coalition (CC), the Popular Party (PP) and the former VOX councilor for the problems with the company contracted for the cleaning of municipal facilities, including schools and sports spaces, with numerous affected.

Bergaz has indicated that he will urgently request the appearance of the mayoress of Teguise in the next plenary session, the nationalist Olivia Duque, given "the seriousness of a situation that has been dragging on for months, without the government of CC, PP and the former VOX councilor having given an adequate response, despite the growing concern of mothers, fathers and users of municipal facilities."

To the report of the Cleaning Area that has transpired today, and that recognizes that public buildings "are not in a perfectly hygienic state" and that even there are deficiencies of something as basic as toilet paper, is now added the statement transferred from the Sports Area to the clubs of the municipality so that they take care of their own waste.

In said statement, "the delicate situation" of the municipal dependencies is admitted, so it asks the athletes to "take away from the facility the waste that they may" generate, such as "plastic bottles" or "sandwich wrappers", so as not to have to change the bins. Similarly, it is recommended that they shower at home, both after training and after matches, or "pass the mop to the court" one club each day.

A series of measures that the PSOE spokesman describes as "unworthy of a City Council that must cover public services with guarantees."

Bergaz recalls that the government group of Teguise "has been unable since last summer to solve a problem with the awarded company, which not only affects the hygienic and sanitary state of the municipal facilities, but also a staff affected by repeated delays in the payment of their payrolls, which has caused very complex economic situations with respect to which the City Council cannot look the other way."
