There are still ten days left for athletes and teams from the island of Lanzarote to apply for travel grants, which are awarded by the Cabildo de Lanzarote in the current 2009-2010 season, the application period for which ends on September 16. The bases of the grants and the application forms are available to all interested parties on the website of the Island Sports Service, www.lanzarotedeportes.com, where applicants can download all the documents.
The application period has been open since August 14, one day after these bases were published by the Cabildo de Lanzarote in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP nº 105). The purpose of these grants is to subsidize the travel of teams and athletes from Lanzarote to participate in official international, national and regional competitions in the Canary Islands.
The grants will be awarded for travel to competitions held in the current 2009-2010 season and, according to the regulations, the beneficiaries may be sports associations of Lanzarote duly registered in the Register of Canary Sports Entities; athletes participating in individual competitions in a personal capacity, and with a favorable report from the Canary Sports Federation, of their classification for the same due to their position in the ranking or prior classification; and the Island Sports Federations and Delegations, in the case of island selections.
Applications must be submitted, together with the documentation requested in each case, to the General Registry of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, located at the main headquarters of the Cabildo, on Avenida Fred Olsen, in Arrecife.
