Ástrid Pérez has called a press conference to dismiss the 5 councilors of the PSOE. This effectively breaks the pact between the PP and the PSOE in the capital of Lanzarote after weeks of rumors.
According to sources from the Mayor's Office, the reasons for dismissing the socialist councilors are due to "disloyalties and problems in the functioning of the areas they were in charge of." One of the triggers would have been the celebration of the concerts in the Islote de Fermina.
The 5 councilors of the PSOE are Alfredo Mendoza, who held the Deputy Mayor's Office, Culture, Local Police and Festivities; Cristina Duque, Economy and Finance; Nova Kircpatrick, Classified Activities, Patrimonial Responsibility and Heritage; Tomás Fajardo, Parks and Gardens and Roy González who was in charge of Sports.
With respect to the other government partners, Eli Merino from Somos and Armando Santana from Nueva Canarias, the first mayor will keep them.
