The tourism business association of Lanzarote, Asolan, has shown its "disagreement and rejection" of the cable ski project, which is intended to be installed inside the La Santa lake, in the municipality of Tinajo. For the tourism entrepreneurs of the island, this initiative "would generate a great impact in that place", which would affect La Santa Sport, "one of the best establishments specialized in sports tourism in all of Europe".

Asolan has assessed the cable ski project in the La Santa lagoon and considers that these facilities "are not suitable, due to their measures and systems, with the characteristics of the area, nor with the type of activities and tourist facilities that are carried out in this place".

Asolan has assured that "it always supports entrepreneurship and the commitment of companies to create new services and products compatible with Lanzarote as a tourist destination", but in this case it considers that cable skiing "is not compatible" in Lanzarote. For this reason, the tourism business association has urged the promoting company to look for "an alternative location", that allows its integration into the coastline, landscape and area, "without generating that high impact".

Thus, it considers that if this project is executed, it would generate an "excessive environmental and visual impact", which would cause "an alteration of the vision of the area", which is precisely characterized by the "the absence of large constructions, consisting basically of small buildings of low height". This project foresees the installation of a tower of about 10 meters and several of between 4 and 6 meters high. "This implies the creation of important visual distortions in the landscape of the La Santa lagoon", Asolan has stated.

And, according to the project presented in the Demarcación de Costas de Canarias, it is planned to occupy 736 square meters of the water surface of the La Santa lagoon in order to carry out this sports modality. In addition, Asolan has insisted that it would be necessary to "determine large security zones for the users of these cable ski facilities", which "would hinder other sports practices that are currently carried out by other users who already give life and dynamism to this place in the municipality of Tinajo".
