The end of summer festival promoted by the Department of Commerce and Tourism of the Arrecife City Council already has a new location and date. On Saturday, September 21, the Maritime Park, next to the Reducto area, will host the celebration of the Summer Festival with tapas, one of the events that Councilor Armando Santana already found on the calendar when he assumed direct management of the Commerce, Tourism and Hospitality Area on June 15.
Within his new line of work, the second deputy mayor and head of Tourism in the capital wants to give a twist to the celebration of this type of event to "boost the capital of Lanzarote, combining the revitalization of the sector with leisure, and the right of residents to rest, who want a city without noise."
According to the second deputy mayor and head of the Tourism Area of the capital, the residents of the city center demand that events that generate a multitude of attendees, and cause days of music and noise, be moved to other areas of the city that are more suitable for citizen coexistence.
Thus, after the recent "public success" at the San Ginés festivities, where one of the places for the development of events was the recovered Maritime Park - also known as the Theme Park - Councilor Armando Santana has proposed that this tent area host, from now on, many of the events for the revitalization of the city. The Maritime Park is located "a step away from Playa del Reducto, an area with an outstanding leisure and restaurant offer, and a large esplanade next to it with capacity for parking many vehicles, and with good road mobility," highlights the Consistory.
Regarding the content of the celebration of the End of Summer Festival with tapas, the councilor states that it was already closed prior to taking responsibility in this area. Thus, he points out that it will be from next year when his department gives a different twist to the events now known as the Tapas Fair - which will change its name - with a new approach, where restaurateurs and local products are further promoted, among other elements that generate added value for the tourist destination of Arrecife and Lanzarote.
