The Arrecife City Council has awarded the work of “Replacement of safety pavement and protection of the patios of the Municipal Children's School” to the company Infraestructuras Deportivas Canarias S.L., for a total amount of 100,087.05 euros (IGIC included). The execution of the works will begin shortly and will be completed within a maximum period of 30 days.
This action responds to a historical demand of the educational center, whose pavement had not been renovated since the opening of the school in 2013. The deteriorated state of the floor posed a risk to the safety of children, which has motivated the priority of this intervention.
The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Contracting, Echedey Eugenio, has highlighted that “with this award we are addressing a need long demanded by the educational community. Our commitment is to guarantee safe and adequate spaces for our minors, and with this work we continue to advance in that direction”.
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Abigail González, has stressed that “it was an absolute priority to intervene in the Municipal Children's School, where the pavement presented significant deterioration. From now on, the children will be able to enjoy fully renovated and safe patios”.
The new rubber pavement that will be installed will significantly improve the safety of the patios, by reducing the risk of falls and injuries, and will have a warranty period of 60 months.
This intervention is part of the plan to improve the educational infrastructures that is being developed by the Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, in all the centers of the municipality.
