The Councilor for Education of the Arrecife City Council, Abigail González, reports the opening of the period to apply for transportation assistance for students pursuing regulated education outside of Lanzarote during the academic year 2024/2025. The period to submit applications will be from today, Thursday, July 31, until August 21 inclusive.
Endowed with an economic allocation of 350,000 euros, the aid is aimed at students registered continuously in Arrecife for at least the last year before the submission of the application and who are enrolled in official studies outside of Lanzarote. It also includes those who, while studying online, have travel expenses at least of an inter-island nature.
Enrolled in University or training cycles
“These scholarships are a key tool to support the families of the municipality and to promote equal opportunities, with them we want to contribute to ensuring that no young person from Arrecife sees their access to education limited for economic reasons”, emphasizes Abigail González, who points out that all beneficiaries will receive the same economic amount until the budgetary availability is exhausted.
Among the requirements, it is established that applicants must be enrolled in university education or intermediate or higher-level training cycles in centers located outside the island, both public and private inter-island. Master's degrees, Doctorates, Expert titles or other similar official qualifications will also be eligible for subsidies. Preparation courses for access to other training, oppositions or others not considered regulated education are excluded.
The application forms can be downloaded from this Thursday, July 31 through the website of the Arrecife City Council and submitted through the municipal electronic headquarters and the Registry of entry of the City Council or by any of the means indicated in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, of the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
