The Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, directed by Migdalia Machín, has extended until September 11, 2025 the deadline for submitting applications for travel assistance corresponding to the academic year 2024/2025, aimed at students who have had to pursue official Bachelor's or Master's degrees outside their island of habitual residence.
The objective of these grants is to compensate for the expenses derived from academic mobility and recognize the economic effort that access to higher education implies for many families in equal conditions.
The counselor Migdalia Machín stressed that “extending the deadline makes it easier for more students to formalize their application and ensures that the administration can respond effectively. With these measures, we continue to guarantee that insularity does not become an obstacle to accessing university studies.”
The grants cover inter-island travel, as well as travel to university centers in the Peninsula and other European countries within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, when there was no academic offer on the island of residence or a place had not been obtained there.
