The former president of PIL, Antonio Barambio, who resigned from this party on January 18, has now joined the Canarian Nationalist Center. The official presentation will take place this Thursday in Arrecife, and the event will be hosted by the federal president of the CCN, Ignacio González Santiago.
Antonio Barambio has assured La Voz that he is "excited and happy" with this new project and that the CCN will try to present itself to all the institutions of the island. He has not yet wanted to reveal whether he will position himself as the head of the list for any of the public administrations of Lanzarote.
Regarding the CCN, Barambio has assured that it "coincides in many things, in the project and in the ideals" that he "loves." "I continue with the same nationalist line. I have been talking to the federal president and he is a very serious person and I like that," says the new member of the CCN. Barambio assures that he is clear about his interests. "I like politics and I want to fight for Lanzarote," he insists.
With respect to the formation he has just left, the PIL, Antonio Barambio has assured that his former colleagues are aware "of the discomfort that was there." "We did not coincide in the ideals, it was not being done as I wanted, there were no projects, it was already obsolete and the controversy with Amor Castañeyra was the straw that broke the camel's back," Barambio stated.
In this sense, he did not want to confirm whether Castañeyra will follow the same line as him and will also join the CCN. However, he did say that "when it is known what party the CCN is, which has recently been forgotten, people will understand that it is a central formation that the Canary Islands desperately need to defend the Archipelago, even at the Madrid level." "I think many people who have been there will return and other people could also join," he indicated.
"I want Lanzarote to be represented with foundation not only on the island but also in the Canary Islands and on the peninsula. We will work for it and I trust that the party will be in a good position and that we will be recognized," said Barambio, who stated that from his presentation this Thursday "he will work non-stop."
