Around 60 schoolchildren have participated in the activities organized to mark World Tree Day, which took place in the El Bosquecillo area. There, the students planted tajinastes, veroles, tabaibas and anise from Jandía. Specifically, this area of Haría has, as of this Thursday, 200 new specimens of different endemic species of the Canary Islands.

This environmental action against climate change was organized by the Cabildo, through the areas of Environment, the Máguez Nature Classroom and the Biosphere Reserve Office, and by Aderlan. The students who have traveled to El Bosquecillo have been those from the Yaiza Secondary Education Institute.

This reforestation initiative culminates a whole week of regular activities at the Máguez Nature Classroom, which this Thursday focused its initiative on trees and vegetation, to celebrate World Tree Day. This Friday, it will also organize several trails to mark World Water Day, which will take place between the Inalsa treatment plant and Salinas de Janubio; between Ye and Órzola; in La Atalaya de Haría, between Máguez and Gallo and between Haría and El Bosquecillo.
