The Civil Guard of Yaiza located this Monday morning a new boat on the beach of Papagayo, south of Lanzarote. At the time of the discovery of the boat, no immigrants were found inside, so a search device for possible occupants has been launched.
For the moment the operation is open and the arrival time of the boat is unknown, as well as the number of immigrants who would have arrived in it. So far none of the occupants of the boat have been located and the Civil Guard of Yaiza has launched the search device
The arrival of this boat adds to the other two that arrived to Lanzarote, specifically to Arrecife, this same Saturday, and also to the other three boats that arrived to the island in the last two weeks.
Although in one of the cases the Civil Guard considered that it was not a boat destined for illegal immigration, but for drug trafficking, with the rest of the boats that arrived to Lanzarote it does seem confirmed that these boats continue to leave from some point on the coasts of Western Sahara. In many of the cases, its occupants are Moroccans, which, since there are repatriation agreements, makes them try to hide when they set foot on land.
