Maritime Rescue has rescued this Wednesday a boat east of Arrecife and another boat that had drifted in Arrieta.
In the first boat intercepted 39.6 nautical miles east of Arrecife, a total of 49 people were traveling, including 44 men, four women and a baby, of sub-Saharan origin, all of them in apparent good health, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium.
Regarding the second boat, around 7:30 a.m. the residents of Arrieta have seen the barge near the Charcón, as reported on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero by the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba. The boat has been detected 200 meters from the coast, in which 33 people are traveling, 27 men and 6 women, all of Maghreb origin, all in apparent good health, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium.
As the mayor has pointed out, the boat has been left "without an engine and has not been able to reach the coast." Later, the Guardamar Polimnia went to rescue it and it is estimated that it arrived at Puerto Naos at approximately 10:20 a.m.
Once assisted on land by the Red Cross, they have evacuated two of the migrants to the Molina Orosa Hospital for different pathologies.
