The municipality of Tías is celebrating its patron saint festivities in honor of Our Lady of La Candelaria and San Blas with a total of 25 events planned from Thursday to Sunday, in addition to the XVII Rally Sprint La Candelaria scheduled for February 15.
In the program of the festivities, sponsored by the City Council and organized by the Festival Committee La Candelaria and San Blas, highlights next Sunday, February 2, the day of Our Lady of La Candelaria, when the solemn religious function will be celebrated, at 12 noon, accompanied by the choir La Candelaria and the procession together with the Cultural Artistic Association of Tías (Acuarti) and the Gaida folk group.
That same day, at 4:30 p.m., a ludopark will be set up in the Plaza de la Candelaria for children over four years old with inflatables, workshops and games. For 8 p.m., the musical show BoleRock and Roll is planned in the Municipal Theater of Tías, with Yanely Hernández, Patricia Muñoz and Mingo Ruano. The doors of the Theater will open half an hour earlier.
On Monday, February 3, the day of San Blas, the solemn religious function will be celebrated at 5 p.m. with musical accompaniment by the La Candelaria choir and procession. For 8 p.m., the XVI Encuentro de Timples La Candelaria and San Blas is planned in the Municipal Theater of Tías, with the performance of the students of the Municipal School of Timples of Tías and the group Ensamble dos Orillas de Los Realejos. The meeting is organized by the Guágaro musical cultural association.
Charity game, theater 'The Credit' and Última Llave concert
Among other events included in the festival program, the charity game with gifts organized by the Sporting Tías Football Club, scheduled for this Thursday, January 30, at 8 p.m., at the Sociedad Unión Sur de Tías, stands out. On Friday, a street parade workshop will be given at 4:30 p.m. in Plaza El Pavón and the play 'The Credit' will be offered in the Municipal Theater by the Actúa company.
The program includes many other events such as the veteran football tournament II Miguel Ángel Caraballo Memorial, with the participation of CF Veteranos Tías, UD Lanzarote and UD Las Palmas on Saturday, at 5 p.m., at the Municipal Field of Tías. That same day, the traditional frying in the Plaza de La Candelaria, the concert of the Canarian group Última Llave, fireworks display and verbena with the group Bomba and DJ Ángel Pérez will be held.
