The group 'Canarios sin alas' has demanded this Saturday that the regulation of prices on plane trips between Madrid and Lanzarote, through the pilot test of the Public Service Obligation (PSO) route "be a reality" in this legislature.

In a statement, 'Canarios sin alas' recalls that the governments of Spain and the Canary Islands set the date of the first flight of this pilot experience for last June, but in April the general elections were called, which left the project "paralyzed and pending setting a maximum price per trip".

'Canarios sin alas' insists that the remoteness of the archipelago "limits the economic and social development" of the autonomous community, "slave of the freedom" of airlines and shipping companies when setting prices.

For this reason, it asks that the Lanzarote-Madrid PSO be materialized in the first year of the legislature, "and if the results are positive", its extension to the rest of the routes, to avoid "the abusive prices of the tickets" and allow non-resident Canary Islanders to "return to our homeland on special dates."
