The final of the IX edition of the Island Artisan Wine Tasting Competition, which took place last weekend at the Farmer's Monument, awarded fifteen wines in its different categories. A total of 42 winemakers not included in the Lanzarote Wine Denomination of Origin participated in the competition, in which 83 different products could be tasted.

The event has had a remarkable attendance at each of the events, which have been attended by around 50 people related to the wine sector. Likewise, the jury disqualified three sweet wines for not reaching the minimum alcohol content required to compete.

The tasters of the Regulatory Council tasted 30 white wines, eight rosés, eight traditional rosés, 25 reds and nine sweet wines. After this first tasting, the six products best qualified in each category went to the final, which was held on Saturday.

Finally, the white wine Pablo Espinosa Expósito, from Teguise, the rosé and the traditional rosé Arcadio Morales Morales, from Tinajo, the red wine Francisco J. Lemes Medina, from Haría, and the sweet wine Juan Carlos Hernández Betancort, also from Haría, won the prize.
