The "success" of the first edition has led the Teguise City Council to once again commit to holding the second Wedding and Events Fair, which will take place this weekend at the Santo Domingo Convent. The City Council aims to showcase the municipality of Teguise and Lanzarote in general as an "ideal setting" for celebrations of all kinds, including weddings.
The II Wedding and Events Fair is part of the annual revitalization program of Teguise. "Currently, there is no specific fair in Lanzarote related to this theme, and we believe it is an attraction for all those interested in this sector locally, but it is also an important attraction at a tourist level," said the head of Tourism, Antonio Callero, during the press conference presenting the event, which took place in the Plaza de la Constitución, which featured "an idyllic wedding setting", decorated by Pitiminí Eventos.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has stressed that with this type of initiative the City Council wants to "primarily support local businesses, and island businesses in general, giving them the opportunity to have a specific framework for the presentation and promotion of their companies to consumers on the island, and also to potential tourists".
The II Wedding and Events Fair will host more than 40 participating companies on Saturday and Sunday, and expects to receive a good number of visitors. "My purpose is for Teguise to become the island center for weddings and events, and for the Fair to be a benchmark throughout the Canary Islands, as it represents a new boost to the economic development of the island and is a great opportunity for the opening of exhibiting companies to the outside," said the mayor.
