After films like "Waiting for the Messiah" or "Lost Embrace", Argentine director Daniel Burman returns to directing, this time delving into parent-child relationships and the concepts of maturity and independence. On this occasion, the plot of the film, which is authored by Burman himself, revolves around Ariel Perelman (masterfully played by actor Daniel Hendler), a young lawyer, like his father, although there is a big difference between the two. While the father is the legal representative of a colorful group of criminals, Ariel is more focused on spirits... In other words, he works for a firm that represents clients who are absent, which makes his life quite boring.
Things, however, start to get better. Ariel marries a beautiful woman who had previously seemed inaccessible to him. With her, he has a child and his self-confidence begins to grow. In the midst of all these changes, his father presents him with an urgent matter. Ariel is forced to make a decision that will transform his life completely. Will he be able to act independently or will he remain forever in the shadow of his elderly father?
With this new film, Burman delves into a solid and recognizable language, which is shaping a personal filmography in which, even taking Argentina as a reference, the author ends up sliding through universal themes that can be extrapolated to any place in the world. With affection and a lot of irony, Burman's treatment of the characters creates a particularly endearing film that the public will enjoy a lot.
Tickets for this screening are priced at 2.5 euros and will be on sale 30 minutes before the start of the session.
