A resident of La Concha reported to LA VOZ this Friday the neglect of the Arrecife City Council when it comes to solving the town's problems. In the words of Dora Armas Plata, the Corporation is not even capable of enforcing the rule that prohibits dogs from being walked on the beach.
Dora Armas Plata is desperate. She says that the neighbors insult her by calling her crazy and throw stones at her house. Dora and her children are terrified of dogs and sometimes cannot even go outside, because every afternoon many residents of the area take their pets for a walk on the beach, despite the fact that there are three signs that expressly prohibit this practice.
"The neighbors let the dogs loose on the beach and I get tired of calling the Local Police, who do nothing more than pat these people on the back, who then have misgivings about me and throw stones at my house."
"The beach and surroundings, always dirty"
In addition, this citizen denounces that the beach and the surroundings of her house are always dirty without the City Council doing anything about it.
About ten meters from the house there are Inalsa facilities that filter stormwater to the surface every time it rains, to which the water company responds by blaming the rats, which apparently eat the pipes. "Every now and then there is a tremendous smell on the beach and I can't even take my children out to play, because the pollution doesn't allow it."
And to make matters worse, the Cabildo plans to pass the maritime avenue that will connect La Concha with El Cable through the very door of her house, as explained to this resident of the coastal town of Arrecife in the First Institution. Armas Plata asks that at least a "small wall" be built so that the promenade does not pass right in front of her house.
