The Rondalla Unión Artística El Cabo from Santa Cruz de Tenerife offered a magnificent lyrical concert on Friday night on the stage installed in front of the House of Fear, in El Charco de San Ginés. For the event, they chose a careful selection of musical works with arrangements adapted for the 40 members of the rondalla and the invited soloists.
The concert began with the plucked string orchestra, which performed the composition Canarios, by Gaspar Sanz. From that moment on, the presence of the young tenor Basay Pérez was counted on, a promising talent who has been participating in this musical section from a very early age and where he has already collected some awards in the different rondalla festivals held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on the occasion of the Carnival festivities.
Besay Pérez also has good musical skills as a soloist in groups as important in the Canary Islands as Los Sabandeños, of which he has been a part since 2011.
Also in this concert was the presence of the young soprano Sara Acosta, a teaching professor who abandoned everything for the world of opera, thus gradually making a name for herself and becoming a great promise of the genre, obtaining last year the Joaquín Rodríguez award in the city of Santiago de Compostela.
Sara Acosta began her performance with the composition Katiusca La Mujer Rusa, by Pablo Sorozaba. The Rondalla Unión Artística El Cabo is chaired by Juan Manuel Socorro and the musical direction is in charge of Professor Israel Espino.
For this musical group it was the first time that they participated in the San Ginés festivities and they managed to connect with the public, who very enthusiastically did not stop applauding each of their songs, even asking them not to leave the stage. The director, Israel Espino, very excited, thanked the welcome and the affection received.
