Starting this Friday, the motor show of the Hollywood Monster Show group arrives in Lanzarote, created in 1976 by Peter Stey after many years working as specialists in films, television series and commercials.
Currently the group consists of himself and his children David, Christopher and Patrick. The HMS moves a total of 15 trailers with 400 tons of material, among which we must highlight the three Monster Trucks, giant all-terrain vehicles of about three meters high powered by engines that reach 900 hp.
The show lasts 90 minutes and is not only focused on motor enthusiasts but is also aimed at the public who value the amazingness of their performances. Stey, together with his group of specialists, displays his entire repertoire of maneuvers, whether in a car, quad, motorcycle or even at the wheel of a tractor.
The first part of the show focuses on skill and balance exhibitions with controlled and synchronized skidding exercises, where you can see plenty of jumps. The use of a tractor to "dance" Johann Strauss's The Blue Danube is sure to surprise the audience.
The second act of the HMS gives way to the wildest side of the function and also the one with the largest number of references from the world of cinema. To begin with, the Mad Maz Show, a film where Peter Stey himself was in charge of dubbing Mel Gibson.
There are two other exercises that cannot be missing in an action and risk film. The first simulates an accident in which the driver ends up engulfed in a ball of fire. The second is a live reproduction of a spectacular special effect where a car crashes causing a large explosion around it.
All vehicles that are crushed in the shows have been previously decontaminated. Throughout the average of 220 performances carried out throughout the year, the Monster Trucks, also known as "Big Foot", crush about 600 vehicles. These vehicles are a very important part of the show. With their almost four meters high and more than three meters wide, they have such power (between 580 and 900 hp) that allows them to jump eight meters high and up to 25 meters long.
The performances will begin in Playa Blanca, between July 23 and 27. Subsequently, they will move to Playa Honda to perform their show between August 1 and 9. Between August 13 and 18 they will move to Costa Teguise. And finally, they will leave the island after their performances from August 21 to 26 in Puerto del Carmen. The cost of the ticket will be 15 ? for adults and 10 for children.
