The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared a pre-alert situation for coastal phenomena and wind throughout the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands starting this Friday. 

According to the Canary Islands Government, from midnight this Thursday to Friday, winds of between 30 and 60 kilometers are expected with possible maximum gusts of between 70 and 90 kilometers, which will mainly affect the islands with the greatest relief. 

Regarding the declaration of pre-alert due to coastal phenomena, it will be activated at 12 hours, with a strong swell expected with areas of rough seas, north swell of between one and two meters, and combined sea waves of between two and four meters. 

For its part, the State Meteorological Agency has only activated the yellow warning for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote and for Saturday. This warning will be activated at 9 a.m. and will remain throughout the day, in which Aemet predicts waves of between four and five meters high in the north of the island.
