IES Las Maretas became a showcase of science and innovation this Thursday on the occasion of the Ciberlandia final, a project promoted by the Education Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
More than 300 students from eight educational centers on the Island (CEIP Titerroy, CEIP Argana Alta, CEIP La Garita, and CEIP Nieves Toledo, CEO Argana, IES San Bartolomé, IES Puerto del Carmen and IES Las Maretas) closed the project by presenting their work carried out over the months that the project has lasted.

The students participated in eight workshops in the month of October, in which they were able to get in touch with the world of programming and robotics, through different activities framed in a specific theme that this year is themed 'Smart Factory'.
"It is a pride to see the motivation and predisposition to learning of these young people passionate about new technologies, robotics and science. The objective has been met, which is none other than to bring students closer to science in a fun and constructive way," said the Minister of Education of the Cabildo, Paula Corujo, who was present at the closing.

"Ciberlandia exposes the most practical side of science and technology. For the Cabildo and the Education Area in particular, it is a priority to offer training projects where they can exchange knowledge. I especially thank the predisposition of IES Las Maretas for the celebration of this project, which in addition to being an excellent space, involves the visit of students to another center on the Island, being an enriching experience for both centers," he added.
