The Canary Islands Government declared an orange alert situation throughout the archipelago this Friday due to adverse weather conditions. According to the National Institute of Meteorology, rainfall exceeding 60 cubic millimeters (mm) in 12 hours is expected widely, reaching locally up to 120 mm, and with the possibility of reaching amounts of up to 150 mm in 12 hours.

This situation will begin from 6:00 p.m. on Friday the 26th and until 00:00 hours on the 28th, when the alert is expected to end.

SNOWFALL

Likewise, snowfall is expected on the peaks of Tenerife and La Palma above 1,900-2,100 meters, approximately.
