The average cost to celebrate a wedding in the Canary Islands is about 19,000 euros, with the Archipelago being the cheapest Spanish autonomous community in this type of event, and only equated by Extremadura, Castilla León and Castilla La Mancha. The data has just been revealed this Monday in Madrid by the Federation of Independent Consumers and Users (FUCI).
Nationally, the cost per wedding is around 20,800 euros. Although this figure represents a decrease of nine percent compared to 2007, one in three couples resort to quick loans to meet the expense. Specifically, Madrid, Valencia and La Rioja are the Communities where celebrating a wedding is more expensive, according to FUCI this Monday.
Celebrating a wedding in the Community of Madrid costs, on average, 24,115 euros; if the event is held in the Valencian Community, the average cost is 23,750; and in La Rioja the price does not fall below 23,405 euros.
On the contrary, the most economical Communities when celebrating a wedding are the Canary Islands, Extremadura and the two Castillas, where the average cost does not exceed 19,000 euros.
The main expense of a wedding is the banquet, which accounts for fifty percent of the total bill. The cost per guest varies between 55 and 120 euros; expense to which is added music and open bar, which amounts to about 1,650 euros.
As for clothing, the bride's can reach an average of 2,000 euros between the dress (about 850 euros); shoes, accessories, makeup, hairstyle and bouquet. In the case of men, the expense ranges between 500 and 1,230 euros.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
To these expenses is added the photographic and / or video report, a concept whose cost ranges between 900 euros and 1,500 euros. In addition, the honeymoon will be around 2,500 euros per couple.
Regarding claims, according to FUCI, the biggest sources of conflict are the fact that some churches and restaurants prevent the entry of the professional chosen by the bride and groom for photographs and video.
Finally, FUCI recommended having a fixed budget in advance, comparing prices and qualities, booking the trip in advance, buying or renting clothing in time, borrowing the wedding car from a family member, specifying the details of the open bar, brands and types of drinks, schedule and method of payment, etcetera.
