The central building of the Social Services of the Arrecife City Council, next to the Vía Medular, hosted this noon the marriage of Alfonso Echevarría Marcías and José Arturo Menéndez Martínez, who works in these municipal facilities as a security guard.

The Councilor for Social Services, Immigration and Equality, and spokesperson for the PP in the capital City Council, María Jesús Tovar, officiated this civil ceremony. Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Arturo and Alfonso said "I do" in the presence of their two wedding godmothers, family members and colleagues from Social Services.

According to the City Council, the marriage was celebrated in the Social Services offices at the direct request of the bride and groom, since civil marriages in Arrecife are celebrated in the plenary hall or in the Municipal Archive hall.

The Councilor for Social Services, who said she was "excited", wished the bride and groom much happiness in this new life together that they are starting as a married couple and, as an anecdotal point, she highlighted that from now on "we also celebrate weddings in the Social Services of Arrecife".
