Juan Fernando entered Tahíche to serve a sentence of two and a half months for attempted robbery. "I have always been in jail for robbery, out of necessity. I sold everything I had. I spent all the money on drugs. I have fought for my life and to be well. I have tried in every way. I have gone to the beaches to swim, to be able to change and I don't know what happens to me that when I am happiest, the euphoria leads me to consume". The day he entered prison he was accompanied by his sister. "She brought me to the door and waited and I said: "why is my sister waiting?. She was waiting for me to hand in the papers and serve my sentence". Juan has also been in the prisons of Las Palmas and Tenerife. He remembers the one in Tenerife as a bit harder, "it's a penal". "Entering prison is like flying in the street and having your wings clipped but now I have strength". He will be released soon. He feels optimistic after his stay in Tahíche, because now he does things "of his own free will". He already has plans for when he is released: to work as a freelancer, hire three workers and create a company.
