Complying with the program of events of the festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana, the residents of Tahíche celebrated on Saturday afternoon the VI Solidarity Race, in which a total of 512 kilos of non-perishable products were collected for Cáritas Parroquiales de Teguise and Calor y Café.
The race, which started at 6:30 p.m. from Rafael Alberti Street, next to the César Manrique School, was divided into two sections of 6 and 12 kilometers, reaching the area known as La Hondura. This edition was attended by 180 runners of all ages, young and old, highlighting a foreign lady who, at 75 years old, completed the twelve-kilometer route.
As in previous editions, Saturday was marked by solidarity, participation and coexistence among the participants. In addition, the weather accompanied the test, allowing to enjoy a very lively day in which many parents and grandparents made the journey walking enjoying with the youngest of the family.
After the race, in the finish area and to regain strength, the organization distributed a rich paella accompanied by bread, water, soft drinks and ice cream dessert, a moment that the participants also took advantage of to comment on the development of this VI Solidarity Race.
