The Timple House-Museum in Teguise continues to celebrate its first anniversary. On Friday it did it in style, with a concert by the musical group from La Palma, Taburiente. Tickets sold out days before the show, as the capacity is very small.
Around 9:00 p.m., the four members of Taburiente took the stage, from where they rejected oil exploration, the day before the demonstration against oil was held. On their jackets, the members of Taburiente wore César Manrique Foundation stickers with the slogan "no oil".
The public enjoyed a night of good music during the almost two hours that the concert lasted. Taburiente took a tour of some of the many songs it has recorded on its 14 albums. In addition, he presented some of the new songs from his latest work, which is entitled "Libre."
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, the Councilor for Culture, Olivia Duque, as well as part of the Municipal Corporation attended the anniversary event of the Timple House-Museum. The president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, and the Minister of Culture, Enma Cabrera, also attended.
Luis Morera encouraged the public during the concert to "say a resounding no to oil" on the Canary coasts. The concert ended with the group's flag song, Ach Guañac, which was sung by all attendees.
