The last edition of Sonidos Líquidos ended this Saturday in La Geria, in an event for which tickets were sold out. The organization assures that it was an "apotheosic" ending and that this festival "is already a benchmark in the union between independent music, Lanzarote wines and the island's landscape".
The concerts took place between Friday and Saturday, on two different stages, totaling more than 14 hours of live music. On Friday the show began in the Plaza de El Almacén, with performances by "La Habitación Roja" and "El Faro".
The following day, at the La Geria stage, more than 3,000 people gathered who did not want to miss the great and long-awaited event that this festival has maintained with its fans for more than ten years. The rock of the conejeros "Los Iguales" uncorked a vibrant day, full of concerts and fun, which was followed by "Carballeira", the DJ in charge of cheering during the band changes. Next, "Shego" added her eighties rhythms with transgressive songs that were very well received. The festive atmosphere multiplied when "Tiburona" jumped onto the stage with catchy and fresh songs that invited to dance without control. With spirits high, it was the turn of the Mallorcan "Maika Makowski", who demonstrated live why she remains one of the most influential composers of Spanish indie.
After Makowski's great performance, La Geria experienced a real revolution. "Fuel Fandango" were to blame for this, once again conquering the public with their fused rhythms. The duo, old acquaintances of the festival, put on a stellar party without holding anything back and making it clear why they are one of the public's favorite groups.
From some experienced in the Spanish pop scene to others who are at the crest of the indie wave. "Dorian" made sure that the mood did not wane with their deep songs. "Goose" took over, a Belgian band that debuted on the island, precisely at Sonidos Líquidos, surprising with a performance in which electronic sounds went hand in hand with the most heartbreaking chords. There was no one who stopped dancing with them, who were willing to leave their souls on stage.
In addition, the day was accompanied by the original dishes of the Taberna de Nino, with local produce as the protagonist and also designed for vegans and celiacs, along with the wines of Lanzarote, from the La Geria and El Grifo wineries.
The organizers point out that "sustainability and care for the environment were, once again, key points" in Sonidos Líquidos. For this edition, the festival launched more than 80 sustainability measures, with the advice of MJC Ambiental. This year reusable cups made from rice husk have been used, which makes them biodegradable. In addition, we must add the bamboo straws, the ecological containers for food and the "coins", which are reused in each edition.
In terms of mobility, the use of the shuttle service and exclusive buses to get to the festival, according to the organization, was "a success", and again "hybrid and electric vehicles were used to transport artists to the venue".
Sonidos Líquidos had the collaboration of the Mararía Association and its violet point, making it clear that gender violence has no place in this event; and the El Cribo Mental Health Association, which was in charge of the merchandising products and the creation of the solidarity canvas, which will be auctioned after this weekend.
Once again, Sonidos Líquidos puts Lanzarote and the Canary Islands in the musical spotlight, as this festival began with a concert tour in May. Tenerife and Gran Canaria received these sessions and ended this Friday in the Plaza de El Almacén and Saturday in La Geria. In the previous concerts, the attending public was able to enjoy the live performances of "Eva Ryjlen", on both islands, "Mollo & The Freestyle Poodoo Experts" and "Sanches", the latter two at Aguere Club and Sala Alboroto, respectively.
There were also the "Experiences" concerts, where the best wines and gastronomy of the island of volcanoes were paired with the most avant-garde music. On these occasions, "Alberto & García" enlivened the meetings at the El Grifo winery and "Eva Ryjlen" on the Breeza terrace of the Meliá Salinas hotel.
The organizers point out that more than 60% of the attendees came from other parts of the geography, especially from other islands, but also from the Peninsula and various European countries, "consolidating the commitment as a tourist and cultural attraction in Lanzarote".
Sonidos Líquidos is organized by Arenao C.& M. together with the Lanzarote Wine Regulatory Council, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Tourism of the Canary Islands, Tourism Lanzarote, Yaiza City Council and Arrecife City Council. In addition, the organization makes special mention as a collaborator to Bodega La Geria, which together with Bodega El Grifo, Grupo TSC, Grupo Chacón, Relaxia Resorts, Suntelco, Tickety, Hotel Meliá Salinas, Sala Alboroto, Aguere Club, Hotel El Mirador de Fuerteventura and Lumar Mantenimiento, have made this entire event possible.
