In recent days, a series of graffiti have appeared in different protected areas of Tinajo. The City Council has condemned these acts and has brought them to the attention of the security forces, "with the hope of finding the perpetrators and that the full weight of the law falls on them for disregard for protected areas of the municipality of Tinajo."
"It is an authentic aberration against the environment, this absurd collection of signs, spray attacks, which have appeared in protected areas of Tinajo, including in the surroundings of the Cueva de Ortiz," says the mayor, Jesús Machín.
The Consistory points out that, according to the legislation, these alleged crimes against the environment carry criminal sanctions that the Justice must determine.
Tinajo recalls that all EU countries must apply "effective, proportionate and dissuasive criminal sanctions for crimes against the environment when they have been committed deliberately or through gross negligence." They add that incitement and complicity in the commission of crimes against the environment are also punishable as a crime.
