The appearance of jellyfish on the beach located in front of the Hotel Fariones in Puerto del Carmen has forced the raising of the red flag, as reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium.

Thus, swimming is prohibited on this beach, which is accessed from the hotel, which is the only one in which there is currently evidence of the presence of jellyfish. However, the Security and Emergency Consortium has pointed out that an assessment of the rest of the island's beaches is being made.

For now, with regard to the rest of the beaches of Puerto del Carmen, the Green flag is flying in Los Pocillos, Playa Grande and Playa Chica and the yellow flag in Matagorda due to sea conditions. In Teguise, yellow flags have also been raised in Playa Bastián and Los Charcos, while the green flag is flying in Las Cucharas and El Jabillo and the red flag in Famara. In Yaiza, the yellow flag has been placed in Playa Blanca, while the green flag is flying in Playa Flamingo, as in El Reducto in Arrecife. As for La Garita beach in Arrieta, the yellow flag has been raised.
