The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared the pre-alert situation due to coastal phenomena in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Graciosa, Gran Canaria, the north and west coast of La Palma and Tenerife, El Hierro and La Gomera., starting at 08:00 this Tuesday.
The regional Executive affirms that it has taken this decision "based on the prediction of Aemet and other available sources, and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands due to Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena PEFMA".
According to forecasts, there would be an episode of bad sea, with wind from the north component and force 3-4. In addition, there will be northwest swell, with combined sea that will produce waves of between three and four and a half meters.
