Pedro Espinosa de León, better known as "Colón", has passed away in the early hours of Wednesday to Thursday. This man was very loved in San Bartolomé and in the world of sports.
Precisely, the City Council of San Bartolomé paid tribute to him this Saturday, naming the municipal soccer field after him. Espinosa de León was unable to attend his recognition, which was attended by his daughters, who unveiled the plaque.
During the tribute, the mayor of San Bartolomé, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted the career of "Colón", "his involvement, his love for soccer from a young age and more in the ranks of San Bartolomé, as a player, worker and pioneer".
For several months, Pedro Espinosa has been struggling to overcome a serious illness, which gradually took him away from public life and his love for soccer. Whenever his health allowed, he did not hesitate to attend the soccer field that he himself cared for and maintained in perfect condition for so many years, and to witness a match of the team to which he has given so much, San Bartolomé CF.
