San Bartolomé celebrated this Sunday a new edition of the Christmas Craft Market, coordinated by the Craft area of the City Council, directed by Ana María Lopes.
The neighbors, residents and visitors of the island were able to enjoy a wonderful Sunday, being able to make their purchases of "kilometer zero" and artisan products from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Carpa del Parque Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente. According to the City Council, around 1,000 people decided to come to San Bartolomé to enjoy Sunday while favoring local commerce, so it considers it a "great success."
In total, this year's 2020 edition included the participation of 28 artisans from different productive sectors, who offered unique items to visitors. From aboriginal ceramics, handmade jewelry, decorative Christmas items, toys, soaps, gift items, original craft pieces, to magnificent pastries. All these products were the protagonists in the already traditional San Bartolomé Christmas Craft Market.

According to the City Council, the market was delimited, complying with strict security measures. The entrance and exit access was controlled at all times so that the capacity was not exceeded and there was temperature control for visitors. The access also had hydroalcoholic gel dispensers, and the use of a mask was mandatory at all times.
The City Council would like to congratulate the work and coordination of Civil Protection and the Local Police, who ensured at all times that the relevant health measures were complied with.
With this Christmas Craft Market, the San Bartolomé City Council wanted to "value the work of the products of master craftsmen and women at this Christmas time, promoting local consumption and favoring the improvement of the business and commercial fabric of the municipality and the island".

The mayor of the City Council, Alexis Tejera, congratulated the work carried out "to the Department of Crafts for launching this event one more year and to the Department of Civil Protection for ensuring the safety of visitors. At the same time, he thanked "the artisans and the entire population for having collaborated together to enjoy a magnificent Christmas morning in San Bartolomé".
