From November 22, the young participants of the Mister Spain 2009 contest will begin to arrive on the Island, which will be held in Playa Blanca during the week of November 23 to 29.
Some details of the event were presented at the press conference held this Monday, which was attended by the general director of the contest, Andrés Cid, as well as Estíbaliz Pereira, current Miss Spain, Patricia Rodríguez, Miss Spain 2008 and José Manuel Montalvo, Mister Spain 2008.
The jury, the great secret
Although the participants will be evaluated throughout the week, the grand gala will be held on November 28 at the Teatro Timanfaya of the Hotel Princesa Yaiza, with the president of the jury being the Asturian journalist Javier de Montini, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Lecturas" for the last few years.
His figure is the only one that has been revealed, since the identity of the members of the jury who will arrive in Lanzarote on the 25th, will be kept secret "until the last moment, to avoid temptations and allow the jurors to evaluate the coexistence and other details to be taken into account for their vote", as assured by the general director of Mister Spain, Andrés Cid.
An outstanding bet
Cid also stated that "coming to Lanzarote is a bet we had pending", and recalled that the organization of the contest has traveled to the islands on three occasions: With Miss Spain in Tenerife and, on two occasions, with Miss and Mister Spain in Fuerteventura, so "there is already a long experience with the Archipelago".
For their part, the winners of the beauty contest Patricia Rodríguez, Estíbaliz Pereira and José Manuel Montalvo, praised both the conditions of the island of Lanzarote, as well as those of the host hotel of the event.
