The Haría City Council has sent a statement to ensure that "by government requirement" the entry of minors under 16 years of age to the celebration area of the festivals, planned in the program of events in honor of Our Lady of Carmen, in Arrieta, is prohibited.
This new requirement, which is mandatory for the Municipal Consortium, is included in the latest Decree 86/2013, dated August 1, on the Regulations of Classified Activities and Public Shows, which establishes the access limitations for minors, according to this City Council has announced.
On the other hand, the Consistory has also indicated that the access to Arrieta from the El Lago restaurant and from the Bar La Candunga crossing on Arco Iris street will be closed this Friday, from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and on Saturday, from 10:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The City Council recommends to the residents and to all the people who want to come to Arrieta this weekend to enjoy the last festive events, not to use the private vehicle in the town, specifically in the celebration areas, as different street closures will be carried out and "a significant influx of people" is expected.
In addition, it has advised the residents of Arrieta that during the cuts they avoid, as far as possible, the use of any motor vehicle, especially on Saturday, from 9:00 p.m. It also reminds that access to restricted areas will be made through the resident card that has been sent to the residents together with the festival program.
Parking and buses
To guarantee parking for residents and all those who come to Arrieta to enjoy the festivities, the City Council has enabled several parking lots next to the hermitage and at the entrance of the town.
On the other hand, people who want to return to Arrecife after the celebration of the popular festival of Our Lady of Carmen, which will take place this Saturday, will have a special bus service at their disposal. This expedition will depart at 04:30 hours on Sunday morning, from the stop near the bar La Candunga, heading to the capital of Lanzarote.
