The Three Wise Men from the East took a spectacular dip in the crowds on their itinerary through the south of Lanzarote, which led them to travel during the afternoon and evening of this Saturday crowded streets of the towns of Yaiza and Playa Blanca where boys and girls exuded joy at the exciting passage of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, who, accustomed to receiving infinite expressions of affection, handed out sweets by the ton and patiently attended the call of thousands of spectators without the slightest symptom of fatigue.
The Kings' ride on camelback was cheered on by the contagious touch of the Woman Batuca girls and the animation of stilt walkers, jugglers, floats and Disney and comic book characters.
Neighbors and tourists, regardless of age or culture, stationed on either side of the roads, chanted the name of their favorite Wise Man, asked for candy, of course, and begged for a wink or a look to capture that moment of happiness in a photo or video.
The afternoon of illusion began in the town of Yaiza. Before the parade and to alleviate the nerves and anxiety, boys and girls enjoyed workshops and entertainment in the same Plaza de Los Remedios as did boys and girls who were anxiously awaiting the arrival of Their Majesties in the vicinity of the Plaza del Carmen in Playa Blanca.
The Kings fulfilled their duty in the town of Yaiza but had not finished their work in the municipality, so with recharged batteries and stocked with many more sweets they arrived accompanied by their royal pages, equally tireless, to Playa Blanca.
In this town they were acclaimed by neighbors and tourists of different nationalities integrated by the universal language of joy. Such was the amount of people who enjoyed the Playa Blanca parade that the image recalled the full houses of the Carnival arena.
Jaime Quesada Street received them to the fullest with cheers and applause and the central Papagayo Avenue was transformed into a massive catwalk that made the corridor to their triumphal entrance.
The procession slowed down, there were more sweets to hand out and more illusion to stir up, and just as Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar gave away a lot of joy in Playa Blanca, the people responded by externalizing their expressions of affection and admiration regardless of age, after all there is a day when we are all children. Before saying goodbye, the Kings shared with dozens of families and handed out cones of
