The organizations Guayota and BRCC.Org (Canary Communist Brigades) carried out several activities last Saturday in the Hall of the Tias Society, to denounce the Business of Wars. Thus, the young people organized a photographic exhibition and a concert to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially with the victims of Gaza.
The event was inaugurated with the reading of the Manifesto against the business of wars. Thus, the organizers informed the attendees of the existence of "about 150 war conflicts being fought in the third world supplied by industrialized countries." In addition, they explained that "wars are worth money and lead to the drama of hunger; although the media only focus on Iraq or the Middle East, there are currently conflicts active, or in danger of restarting in almost all continents."
During the act against the wars, the associations also mentioned that "the ranking of profit in world arms exports, in the last five years places the USA at the head with about 63,000 million dollars, the second arms exporter is the United Kingdom with about 53,000 million dollars and in the third and fourth place are followed by France and Italy; Spain is in the sixth place in arms exports that, together with the European countries, are violating the legislation of the EU Code of Conduct that establishes that weapons should not be sold to sanctioned countries, unstable in armed conflict, that violate Human Rights, or that have a delicate level of Welfare".
The concert that was held during the meeting "was seconded with great success among students and young workers", they explain from the organization.
