The professionals of the Archipielago Chinijo diving center, located in La Graciosa, have rescued a loggerhead sea turtle that was entangled in plastic.
According to the center, some Germans who were on a yacht spotted the animal in distress two weeks ago, but bad weather prevented them from approaching it.
When it was finally rescued, the turtle had several cuts on its front legs and a swollen eye "from the long time it spent on the surface." Thus, it was handed over to the Marine Reserve guards for transfer to the Turtle Hospital of the Fishing School.
