The Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote has incorporated two new firefighters, as interim officials, who will reinforce the staff of the island's fire department. José Manuel Vázquez Bueno and Juan Antonio Romero Rodríguez took office this Monday at the event held in the Commissions Room II of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which was attended by family and friends of both.
The event was also attended by the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Francisco Aparicio, the manager, Enrique Espinosa, and colleagues from the Central Park.
Councilor Francisco Aparicio wished the new members of the fire department "good luck in this new professional stage."
"It is always good news that the staff of the fire department is expanded, and I am sure that they will contribute to continue safeguarding the security of the island," adds the councilor.
On the other hand, the president of the Emergency Consortium wanted to send a message of support to the fellow firefighters who traveled to La Palma to support in the extinguishing efforts of the fire that the island is suffering. "They are an example of courage and sacrifice, and it is a pride for us that they are collaborating to try to put out the flames," he concludes.
