Lanzarote is preparing to host the IX Edition 2020 of the Qué Bueno Canarias Heineken Awards. The gala will take place on February 10 at the Farmer's Monument, where you can taste the most traditional and modern dishes of our island's gastronomy.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Saborea Lanzarote brand, co-organizer of the gala, has collaborated in the realization of this IX Edition of the regional Awards. In addition, the institution states that it has had the selfless offer of 15 chefs from Lanzarote, who will be in charge of preparing the tasting menus that will represent "the essence of our territory". The island's producers will also be present at this important regional gastronomic event.

The Minister of Economic Promotion and Agriculture, Ángel Vázquez, has expressed his satisfaction that "for the first time, Lanzarote is hosting the celebration of these prestigious awards." "It will be a great opportunity for our local products to be known once again and to consolidate the island as an enogastronomic destination. In short," we are facing a great opportunity to strengthen Lanzarote in the gastronomic field both locally and abroad, he adds.

For the organizers of the gala, according to the Cabildo, thanks to Saborea Lanzarote they will have "the largest annual restaurant event in all the Islands."

Best Chef and Best Restaurant in the Canary Islands

During the celebration of these awards, the "TOP 10 nominees" of the year will be chosen, as well as the "Best Chef" and "Best Restaurant in the Canary Islands".

In this regard, it is emphasized that there are three fundamental aspects that must coincide for the category "Best Restaurant in the Canary Islands": impeccable facilities suitable for the hotel function; cuisine offer with its own category and quality, with dignified presentation; service, whether familiar, informal-correct or highly professional, irreproachable. It will also be valued that the wine offer is profiled, consistent with the style of cuisine.
