The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has reported a new yellow warning for high temperatures on the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. In this case, it will be between 10:00 a.m. this Friday, October 13, and until 8:00 p.m. on the same day.
According to this same prediction, the maximum temperature expected for this Friday will be 34 degrees Celsius. While the minimum will not be less than 20 degrees. The most affected areas of the Island of Los Volcanes will be the interior and the southwest.
With this new warning, the heat wave that Lanzarote has been suffering for a week is prolonged and has forced the Government of the Canary Islands to suspend classes until next Monday, October 16.
During the last few days, temperatures exceeded 37 degrees Celsius at the Aemet station in La Graciosa, and also reached a maximum of around 34 degrees in Lanzarote.
