The municipality of Tinajo celebrated Canary Islands Day in style, choosing the Plaza de Los Dolores in Mancha Blanca as the setting, where from the early hours of the day neighbors and visitors arrived to enjoy a day marked by Canarian traditions.

Young people and children were able to learn how our elders lived until not so long ago, working from sun to sun in the arid fields of Lanzarote to bring some products to their homes and thus be able to survive in tasks as hard as threshing, helped by donkeys or camels like the ones they could see this day in the surroundings of the square. Another of the most visited places was the one destined to the exhibition of farm implements, the straw stacks and the wood oven.

There was also no shortage of tables very well decorated with Canarian motifs where families deposited their food to later share it with their guests, nor the exhibitions of Canarian wrestling and the ball game, all set with the good music of the El Geito band, the Tinajo String School and the La Peña de San Roque Music Band, directed by Professor Orlando Morales. A day where the good atmosphere, gastronomy, good wine and parrandera music managed to coexist in healthy harmony until late in the afternoon of a day marked by Canarian culture and traditions.
