The La Tegala Socio-Cultural Center of Haría will be the stage for the III Cultural Week "Haría: history, culture and traditions" which, organized by the Department of Agriculture and Livestock of the City Council, in collaboration with the Association of Friends of Wine and Cheese of Lanzarote, the José Clavijo Fajardo Canary Foundation" and the La Tegala Socio-Cultural Center itself, will be held from October 17 to 23.

Among the activities scheduled for this year, the exhibition and teaching of traditional crafts and trades, the screening of audiovisuals, the presentation of conferences related to heritage and genealogy, as well as the celebration of the Aguapata Festival stand out.

In this sense, the craft workshops exhibition will be open from October 17 to 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. As for the teaching of workshops, they will be held from October 17 to 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This Monday the 17th will be the turn of the shoemaking, tailoring and loom workshops, while on the 18th the carpentry, bakery and blacksmithing, tinsmithing and cooperage workshops will be taught. On October 20, it will be the turn of the gofio and stonemasonry workshops, while the following day the basketry and painting workshops will be held.

As for the conferences, three will be held. The first of them will take place this Monday the 17th, at 8:30 p.m., under the name of "Heritage values of the municipality of Haría" and will be given by the architect Walter Beltrán Espinosa. On the 18th, at the same time, the talk "Architecture as an enhancement of heritage" will be held, which will be given by the architect Blanca Fajardo López. On Friday, October 21, the conference "The Socas and the Clavivo in Haría" will take place, given by Carlos Gabiño de Franchy, researcher and historian, and Juan Ramón Gómez-Pamo Guerra del Río, historian and librarian.

On the other hand, "Agricultural heritage of Lanzarote" will be screened, made by José María Barreto Caamañoo Agrario de Lanzarote", made by Mr. José María Barreto Caamaño.

The Aguapata Festival will take place next Sunday, October 23, at 12 noon in the Plaza de Haría, and will feature the Los Gurfines group, as well as a tasting of Canarian mojos, ralas, aguapatas and other products voluntarily brought by the attendees, to end with a fellowship lunch. The Haría City Council recommends that attendees wear Canarian clothing.
