Varied events for all ages have taken place, starting with events in the Playa Honda Open Commercial Area, Calle Mayor, where all audiences could enjoy the planned performances, with music, batucada, children's activities and a playroom, a zumba marathon, and the Miss Playa Honda and Queen of the Festivities election gala, an event that included professional parades by the twelve contestants, a performance by Esther, a participant in the Vive tu voz contest, and performances by dance schools on the island.
Aitana Pérez Cáceres was crowned Queen of the Festivities, and María Gutiérrez Rodríguez, Miss Playa Honda. Event organized by the Calle Mayor Merchants Association.
On Saturday, the events continued from the morning with children's entertainment with inflatables installed for the occasion, a bird exhibition, and a go-kart circuit, and at 12:00 noon, the Fit Family Training was held (a gymkhana contested by pairs of parents/mothers and children organized by the Fuerte Gym Gymnasium), giving way to the Water Festival, which featured performances by Idania Durán and the Swing Group, held on Playa Honda Avenue.
The veterans' soccer triangular was played between the veterans of Playa Honda Guacimeta, San Bartolomé, and La Asomada, with San Bartolomé taking home the cup.
The night concluded with VII HondaRock 2015, starting at 10:30 PM, with a performance by Galiot, whose heavy metal conquered the audience after many years on stage. Pechuga Band took the stage after a 9-year hiatus, with their crossover and compilation of their hits. Inadaptados play rock&roll with touches of swing, winning over the audience, after a long absence from the stage they have returned stepping strong. The night of rock ended around 2:15 AM, with great public success.
On Sunday, September 20, the Family and Friends Meeting Day was celebrated, with events for the little ones both in the morning and in the afternoon with children's entertainment, inflatables, a bird exhibition, and a go-kart circuit.
The hard-fought III Paella Contest was held, in which 11 paellas were prepared that were later tasted by the attendees, and the prizes went to the Santa Elena de Playa Honda Senior Citizens Association and Luis Álvarez Martín.
The event featured a performance by Pal Porrón, delighting the attendees with a varied repertoire. The jury was composed of students from the Zonzamas cooking specialty, Yaritza Díaz, Julián Carlo, and Oswaldo Rodríguez.
The Playa Honda Restaurante Emmax swimming race was another highlight of the day, organized by the Department of Sports, the Vulcano Triathlon Club, and Restaurante Emmax, with a total of 230 swimmers participating.
The absolute prizes were taken by Alejandro Candelas in the men's category and Sara González in the women's category. Congratulations to all the participants and winners in different categories.
The events will continue throughout the week.
