El Mojón celebrated the big day of its festivities in honor of the Virgen del Rosario last Sunday. The neighbors and people from other places on the island crowded the small hermitage to attend the holy mass, presided over by the parish priest of Teguise, José Benito Gallego, and sung by the musical group Alborada Peña del Lentisco.
After the mass, the image of the Virgen del Rosario went out in procession and made a tour of the main streets of the town. The neighbors wore their best clothes as tradition dictates. Thus, they wore new clothes and shoes to attend this celebration.
Once the procession was over, the neighbors returned to their homes to enjoy a special meal with delicious artisan desserts in the company of their loved ones. In this way, the town's residents revived the traditions inherited from their parents.
