On Thursday there will be an open day at its headquarters and a round table at the Sociedad Democracia

El Cribo Announces New Events for World Mental Health Day

The Association for the Defense of the Psychic Patient El Cribo will celebrate the World Mental Health Day, which is commemorated on October 10, with different events, which already began this Sunday, with the III Lunch Gala at the Farmer's Monument. 

This Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., information tables will be set up on Calle Real in Arrecife, with an exhibition of works made in El Cribo's occupational workshops. Also, on Wednesday, at the same time and place, information tables will also be set up, but this time there will be a performance by El Cribo's batucada. 

Among the events, the open day that El Cribo will celebrate on Thursday at its headquarters, located at Calle Gobernador García Hernández number 7 in Arrecife, where different activities will be carried out, including the radio program 'La Ovejita Negra', which will be broadcast live on Radio Insular at 11 a.m.,  with the participation of different Mental Health professionals and Marta Ceñal, from the suicide support group (GAMAS).

To conclude the events, on Thursday the 10th there will be a presentation at the Sociedad Democracia at 8:15 p.m., where a manifesto will be read. José Luis Herrera will give a first-person presentation, a round table will be held on the promotion of mental health and suicide prevention, and they will be able to enjoy a monologue and a performance by the Vocal Group El Cribo Canta.

 

Suicide prevention 


The El Cribo association, in accordance with this year's motto, which is 'Connect@ with life', calls for "a more positive mental health through the promotion of mental health and suicide prevention, ending myths and misconceptions to facilitate destigmatization".

It also invites the society of Lanzarote to participate in these events in order to learn more about Mental Health, its prevention, treatments and existing resources for the recovery of people with mental illness, in addition to making "a call to those people with suicidal thoughts to tell them that life is worth it and there are many people willing to lend a hand when they feel alone".
