Lanzarote celebrated the first edition of the event 'Push, Lanzarote Emprende' last Friday. This initiative, organized jointly by the Department of Open Government and Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, tried to attract young entrepreneurs on the island. In total, 14 of them gathered in Arrecife to narrate their professional experiences.
The event, which was held at El Almacén, was divided into two parts and was presented by the local comedian Gazz. The first was a dialogue table with guests who spoke about "Inspirational Entrepreneurship" formed by Álvaro Jiménez, María Delgado Segura, Myriam Rodríguez, Néstor Santiago and Rubén Gracida.
Then, the Pechakucha format was the main protagonist. This presentation style proposes the challenge of telling a "great story" in just 20 images. The method consists of narrating in 6 minutes and 40 seconds, in a format of 20 slides of 20 seconds each. This type of presentation dates back to 2003. In that year, two architects from Tokyo devised this novel format seeking to "summarize great stories that deserved to be told", to reach more people in less time.
The second part was precisely starred by the talks in Pechakucha format where young talents exposed their experience of entrepreneurship with the aim of giving ideas to promote projects. In this system, Carla Luq, Iñaki Tajes, Zigh, 8IslasCanarias, Laura Yasmine Balde, Maraba Studio, Rubén Acosta, Natalia Vargas, Tertulia y Arte and Turba de Papel contributed their visions. Finally, the night concluded with a musical session staged by Sisao Music.
The Minister of Open Government, Jorge Peñas, celebrated the great success of 'Push, Lanzarote Emprende', highlighting "the enormous opportunity that it has meant for the exhibition of talent, creativity and talent that has its germ in Lanzarote". In addition, Peñas stressed that "the day served for the participants to expand their community of contacts with a view to future collaborations".
Alberto Aguiar, Minister of Culture, expressed his enthusiasm for making known "talented and outstanding entrepreneurs" from very diverse areas who shared their experiences and ideas in the CIC El Almacén, an equally innovative space that lends itself to seeking interaction and active participation of attendees.
Both the speakers and the attendees of the first 'Push, Lanzarote Emprende' were linked to creation, entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and music.
